Rick and The Revolving Doors

About

Rick and The Revolving Doors (R&RD) is known as a fun, high-energy party band. Every gig is an inclusive celebration of music and dancing led by John Sellman’s charismatic personality.

R&RD started in 2009 when Rick Hogue began to play with various musicians doing original material. Through the years there have been quite a few incarnations as Hogue worked with various musicians each time a show was scheduled. In its current incarnation, R&RD came about during COVID when guitarist Rick Hogue & bassist Gary Hewitt agreed it was time to put a band together.

Hogue, a vintage guitar aficionado and owner of Garrett Park Guitars has played in bands for years, including the Swampdaddies and his solo project Rick Hogue and Friends.

Gary Hewitt, a longtime professional musician who toured nationally & internationally brings a rock-solid foundation and professional attitude.

The next phone call was to John Sellman, singer, keyboardist, bass player, and drummer, and after that core guitarist Mike Morton was added.

Since then numerous musicians have rotated through the Revolving Doors. The most recent additions have been Singer DorRay Ward, Guitarist Matt Ascione, and Drummers Richard King and Larry Ascione. Each musician has come to the band with a wealth of experience, talent, and styles.

True to their name, The Revolving Doors frequently rotate guitarists and drummers. Richard and Larry share drumming duties, while Mike and Matt take turns on guitar, swapping gigs as their schedules permit.
